The G.Corp boys wanted to carry on what they were doing but this time stretch it further. After much head scratching they reached out into Birmingham’s vibrant reggae scene and recruited a live rhythm section to work with the machines. The players - drummer Conrad Kelly, bass Jeffrey “Jaffa” Wright and guitar Robert “Moses” Mullins – were cherry picked and between them have worked with a who’s who of Reggae stars including Steel Pulse, Ijahman Levi, UB 40, and Crucial Music.
“We had to have world class players and that’s what we got, we found ourselves working with a rhythm section that is up there with Sly & Robbie, The Wailers or any other greats you care to mention,” says G.Corp’s Brian Nordhoff. The studio cohorts were given a name, The Mighty Three, and history made. The result is a masterpiece, a sound clash between old skool live rhythm tracks catapulted into the contemporary dub arena. Originally the album was planned as purely an instrumental affair but as vocalists passed through the G.Corp’s Elephant House studio so the cry would go up;”I;ve got something that would work great on that track”.
